🚀 Quick Start Options

Choose the best way to explore Data Version based on your needs:

Option 1: Try the Live Demo (2 minutes)

Launch Live Demo →

Option 2: Deploy to Test AWS Account (5 minutes)

Best for evaluation: Deploy Data Version to your own AWS account for a complete evaluation experience with your own data.

Prerequisites:

  • AWS account with administrative access
  • AWS CLI configured with appropriate credentials
  • Windows 10+, macOS 10.15+, or Linux (Ubuntu/Debian/Fedora)

Installation Steps:

  1. Download the desktop application:
    • Windows - Windows 10 or later
    • macOS - macOS 10.15 or later
    • Linux - Ubuntu, Debian, or Fedora
  2. Run the deployment wizard:

The desktop app includes a guided deployment wizard that will:

    • Verify your AWS credentials
    • Deploy the serverless infrastructure to your AWS account
    • Launch the web interface
  3. Start using Data Version:

    Once deployed, you can:

    • Import existing S3 data or AWS Glue tables
    • Write SQL queries and save them as versioned tables
    • Schedule pipelines and manage dependencies
    • Test rollback and time-travel queries
💡 Evaluation Tips:
  • Deploy to a non-production AWS account for testing
  • Estimated AWS costs: ~$10-20/month for moderate usage
  • All infrastructure is deployed to your AWS account - you maintain full control
  • Infrastructure can be destroyed with a single command when evaluation is complete
